Saved???

Well, it seems that I succeeded in saving my Boobytrap-blog, but I don't know why it, all of a sudden, acted crazy, so it may not be for long. Disasters happen, but I hope there will not be too many for either of in 2026.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you

A New Blog???

As I for some time have had some WEIRD problems with my blog, BOOBYTRAP, I may close it and start another one, either here or somewhere else. If I do, I shall leave the link here.

The Liar's "Game"

Alas, not only Joseph Goebbels, but also our modern days piece of vermin, Donald Trump, has given his evidence that the same method of lying as the Nazi one is working just fine. Lying is an art, and some, like e.g. Goebbels, master it. As to Trump, he went too far, and have been found out too many times. That's why I find that he as a liar doesn't score as high as Goebbels.

A special situation: The teacher caught the student in the lie of having done his homework. But WHY lie about something that obviously was a blatant lie? It's embarrassing to be found out so why risk that? Well, according to many/most psychologists lies are a natural kind of protection: This particular liar chose to chance it to keep on good terms with the teacher in order to protect  himself.

Lying seems to be part of the human make-up, and young children of three years or so seem to have grasped the art of lying, because at that time the start to understand some of the more advanced intricacies of human societies. Something I find quite amazing. Even so, there is no doubt that both Goebbels and tRump has gone much too far in their lying habits.

A Few Broodings About Faith

As is well-known it's a historical fact that breeds of deities have followed upon breeds of deities. Beliefs have changed with social circumstances, and humans have accepted new deities as their best friends whom they may turn to in the days of need. Actually, humans have proven over and over again that what they expect from their gods is the same as they would expect from the neighbouhood thug whom they befriendied in order to gain influence or just protection in a dangerous world. Sometimes the needy humans feel that this system works, sometimes not, but the main point is that all of them resort to ideas about invisible powers outside of themselves which control their life. It's a crazy notion,  but still it can't be ignored as part of the general human make-up as it seems to be part of the general idea of humans all over the planet. The gods may differ, but not the human wish for them and the help they want from them.

, The Queen Who Became An Author

Elizabeth of Wied (1843-1916), was born a German princess, and many found it very appropriate for her to marry the British prince who became King Edward Vii. I'm not sure when they met, but it seems to have been something his family set up for the young people. However, after being introduced to Elizabeth, young Edward declined to go further with the family plans of a marriage. Maybe he already had met his future bride, the American socialite, Wallis Simpson, at that time. Anyway, he didn't have eyes for Elizabeth, so she found another bridegroom, namely the first king of Romania, Carol I (1839–1914).

The couple only had one child, namely the princess Maria. Unfortunately, the child fell ill and died, only four years old. I suppose the loss of her daughter made Elizabeth even more inclined to follow her artistic dreams than before, simply to fill her days and bring meaning to her life. (However, that's me interpreting what happened, and I may be wrong).

In her case that meant writing and publishing books, using the rather exotic pseudonym of Carmen Sylva. Actually, she was quite prolific, writing not a few works:

I must admit that I haven't read her books, but it's safe to say that her main theme is of a spiritual kind. She is preoccupied with the issue of suffering, and use the fairy tale genre.

New Forms of Misogyny

These years we seem to be drowning in floods of new forms of misogyny. Maybe the best term for it would be "The War of the Worlds", namely the male and the female worlds. As we know, they hold different ideologies, etc.. When I visit sites as e.g. Reddit I'm surprised at the fierce male hatred  of women and the blatant misogyny in young men. I've seen it in the older generations too, but didn't know that the younger ones are even worse. On some websites there seems to be a general male demand that more women - which means their own generation, sisters, wives, etc. - stop their feminism and instead return to the sex roles of their great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers or so: ONE sexual partner - namely them - and they must not lose their much prized virginity to anyone else, but these male "prizes". These men are considered able to satisfy them in any way possible simply by being who they are. On the other way, they should be free to roam the streets of whatever "love city" they fancy while women stay at home, tending the children. Strangely enough, these men have no suggestions as to how the women are to be provided for by male labor.

One might try to laugh off such naive delusions in modern times, but it's quite obvious that this is their genuine opinion. It may look liked children's fantasies, but to them it's "The Truth" - which it's not .... Sadly enough, the ideological climate has changed, and this new ideology is becoming "normalized".

Female Sex-Murderer

They exist, but there are not as many as male sex-murderers. One of the most baffling cases is the one of the Hungarian Piroska Jancso-Ladanyi (1934-1954). She didn't kill men, but women, and her inclination to do so allegedly was her strong sexual drive. The author Szilard Rubin described her life extensively in the novel "Little Saints".

Szilard Rubin

The crimes of Piroska Jancso-Ladanyi were gruesome: She killed - and raped - five very young girls between 1953 and 1954. Her rape consisted of "rubbing herself against the corpse of the murdered girl". I take it that she was a sort of "misplaced lesbian" who tried to find her sexual way in a bewildering situation without ever being able to do so. That may not be so very surprising when considering her family background, which was pitiful to say the least. Not that it excuses what she did, but it may explain the pattern of her actions, at least up to a point

She was the daughter of a totally penniless woman who, at the age of 16, started to offer sexual favors to male farmers as part of her working for them as a maid. She had five children by four different men, one of them the biological father of Piroska and her brother Jozsef. He was forced to pay the sum of 600 forints as a "once and never again"-alimony for his daughter, not wanting to deal with her again. At that time she had followed in the footsteps of her mother, becoming a prostitute at a very young age. Her mother's customers were mostly Hungarians, whereas she often serviced Soviet soldiers from the nearby garnison. I suppose that's how she learnt to speak fluent Russian, which was something that was noticed when she was arrested for theft. At that time she wrote poetry, loved to wander around by herself, and most likely got more and more confused about who and what she was. All of that confusion ended when she was arrested as a female serial-killer and was hanged on December 12, 1954, leaving her son, Mihaly, motherless. Her last wish, namely to see him, was not granted.
