Immigrant-hatred of Immigrants

No, tRump doesn't like immigrants although he, as is the case with all Americans, except Indigenous people, belong to families who immigrated to USA at some point back in time. As his paternal grandfather, Friedrich Trump, was a sickly individual who wasn't up to hard work, he may have found it necessary to escape military service in his homeland of Germany. Maybe he saw the opportunity to immigrate to America as some sort of lifesaver, because immigrate he did.

Anyway, in 1885 the 16-year-old German barber Friedrich Trump escaped three years of compulsory military service by boarding a ship to America. Was he an illegal immigrant? That may very well be the case, but it took a couple of generations to see that as a problem so he settled down as best he could: He set up businesses as e.g. hotelier, saloon keeper, New York real-estate investor and, for some time, he also made a living as a pimp.  

Both his son and grandson, Donald Trump, denied the fact that he was born a German. This undeniable German heritage must have been seen as something derogatory, as both tRump and his father claimed that the family was Scandinavian. As so often with tRump lies followed upon lies, and he kept claiming, even for decades, that his paternal family was Swedish and not at all German.

The tRump persecution of immigrants is very interesting as something that points at his well-known lack of self-insight, as well as his readiness to lie when he feels that's necessary to save his image or just gain an advantage. No matter how many lies, tRump is the grandson of immigrants, as none of his grandparents were born in the USA. When considering the immigration history of his German grandfather, he doesn't seem to meet his own criteria for an American citizenship .... 

Interesting enough, only two of the last 10 American presidents have had a parent born outside the USA: Barack Obama and tRump. With tRump it's his late Scottish-born mother who was the foreigner of the family: 

So, are we to believe that tRump's contempt and hatred of immigrants is a kind of self-hatred, built on self-insight? Well, who knows, but it may looks that way.
