What did President tRump do when MAGA-hordes stormed the Capitol on January 6th, 2021? Did he, as the chief executive and commander in chief of the military, call for military help against those violent intruders? No, he just watched the criminal ongoings on television for 187 minutes, which is quite a long time, when his White House-staff are at danger. He must have felt very certain that nothing bad might happen to him, which speaks volumes about his commitment to the cause of the intruders: The first stage of the Insurrection was achieved because the president obviously was part of it. No other man or woman in his position would have sat it out and then, a couple of years later, have pardoned the MAGA-criminals.
Yes, those men felt that they "were on a mission" which turns the event even more grotesque. A "mission" to back-stab the Constitution and thus the Democracy that even protects criminals? That sure is pulling the rug from under the feet of someone like these guys!
Somehow the investigations into The President, that should have been the first priority of several investigators, always was a bit too late. How come, when they knew that Don the Con most probably should have been put behind bars several years back in time for what looked like other crimes? For instance, did he steal and sell Classified Documents, thus committing High Treason? If so, why was he not brought to trial??????? That part of the historical DJT-episode I shall never be able to understand! It's too crazy for me to be able to wrap my mind around it.
As to The Insurrection, The Orange Conman wasn't an innocent bystander, watching television transmissions for 187 minutes, he was proved guilty by Jack Smith. According to The Constitution, The President is not allowed to violate Federal Law as he, being the Chief Executive, is bound by oath to defend The Constitution and Federal Law. I remember how preoccupied tRump was with the idea of "immunity" at the time of the Insurrection. Well, as to "immunity", the ruling in the Nixon-case brought out an interesting wording: "Sovereignty remains at all times with the people, they do not forfeit through elections the right to have the law construed against and applied to every citizen."
I find it a tragedy that Don the Con wasn't imprisoned long ago, not only because of his most recent antics, but also as a protection against what's next in his political agenda.
